Full Screen vs Widescreen Part 2

Okay, to be honest, there a big difference between part 2 and part 1. Here we are comparing 1:33:1 and 1:85:1. 1:85:1 is a tiny bit wider than 1:78:1 and is the common aspect ratio for US theaters. There is also anamorphic widescreen, but we will look at that in part 3.


The movie Saw 2 is used for reference here.

Saw 2 was actually filmed in 1:85:1, but was released on DVD/Blu-ray in 1:78:1. Why? People don't like bars.
